Skyrim fans on the PlayStation 3 have had a long wait for the first DLC for the RPG, a wait that isn’t over. With the recent release of Skyrim Hearthfire on the PC, another round of DLC has passed Sony fans completely. However, it’s not Sony’s fault that the developer can’t get the content working on the PS3 platform. Bethesda is currently working with Sony engineers to get the content up to a satisfactory quality level before it can be released.
Bethesda is taking all the blame for the Skyrim PS3 DLC woes however. Pete Hines, a marketing executive for the company had this to say on Twitter.
“We’ve never blamed anyone or anything,” Hines explained. “It’s our problem, and it’s on us to solve it.” The developers have continually pointed to quality issues on the PS3 that could affect some players and not others, and don’t want to release DLC that could potentially be another disaster on the console. PlayStation 3 Skyrim fans don’t have to look too far back to recall the issues that plauged the RPG near its release.
From their recent statements, it seems like Bethesda isn’t ready to throw in the towel on Skyrim DLC on the platform, but there are still no timeframes in place as for when PlayStation Skyrim players can expect the content, if at all.
