Daredevil fans can sleep easy as Netflix has confirmed that Daredevil season 2 is coming, sooner or later.

Fans of the just released Daredevil series on Netflix have by now binged their way through all thirteen episodes of the Marvel based show starring Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and the intimidating Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). Until now it was up in the air if Netflix/Marvel would do a Season 2 considering it is all a part of a much larger Defenders universe that will continue on Netflix with  Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Marvel’s Iron Fist and finally The Defenders. Now Netflix themselves and the official Marvel’s Daredevil Twitter has confirmed Daredevil Season 2 is coming along with an image.

“Fisk was just the beginning. The first Defender is back for Season 2 of @Daredevil. #Daredevil ”

Fans will have a look at Daredevil Season 2 in 2016 as Marvel announced alongside Netflix’s announcement. During the announcement they stated that Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy) will be taking over showrunner duties from Steven S. DeKnight and Drew Goddard who served as showrunners during Season 1. Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been added to the team of Petrie,Ramirez and Goddard who will be Executive Producers for Daredevil Season 2.

The announcement doesn’t really come as a surprise given that the series has garnered massive positive critical and fan response to not only the transition to television, but the ability to stay true to the comic. Marvel’s Daredevil is now streaming on Netflix.
