Sydney Sweeney seems headed to another political firestorm as she sends message to her brother who’s deployed in Middle East

Hopefully it's not another IDF endorsement shenanigan.

Sydney Sweeney seems to be stepping right into the thick of the U.S.-Iran war conversation after she posted a sweet message to her brother, Trent, who was just deployed overseas. The actress shared the heartfelt message on her Instagram Story, revealing that getting calls from Trent always makes her happy, especially now that he’s been dispatched to a foreign region as part of the U.S. military, as reported by TMZ.

In her post, Sydney wrote, “Thinking of all our boys and girls overseas and sending my love! Thank you for your service.” It’s a message that really hits home for many, especially with the recent developments in the Middle East.

Her brother, 25-year-old Trent, is an Airman in the U.S. Air Force, though the specifics of his current mission are unclear. He first joined the Air Force around April 2020 and has previously been deployed to South Korea in November of that same year. Sydney even shared some throwback photos of them as kids with a good luck message when he left for basic training back then.

This personal update from Sydney comes hot on the heels of some significant military news

The Pentagon recently announced that 2,000 members of the Army’s 82nd Airborne Division have been deployed to the Middle East, specifically near Iran. Then, on Wednesday, President Trump’s 15-point plan aimed at ending the war was unfortunately rejected by Iran.

The ongoing conflict between the U.S. and Iran, which also involves Israel, kicked off in late February. The initial actions involved bombings that were explicitly aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

These strikes had a major impact, resulting in the deaths of much of Iran’s leadership, including the then-Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It’s also worth remembering that Iran is widely known as a state sponsor of terrorism, which definitely complicates any efforts towards peace.

It’s a tough situation for everyone involved, especially for military families who are seeing their loved ones deployed into a volatile region. Sydney’s public support for her brother and all service members is a clear sign of her pride and concern.
