NVIDIA announced several new gaming technologies at the CES trade show. The company introduced DLSS 4.5, which brings better performance and visuals to games. Over 250 games and apps now support NVIDIA DLSS 4 technology. Big upcoming games like 007 First Light, Phantom Blade Zero, PRAGMATA, and Resident Evil Requiem will have this support when they launch.
The company also showed off new features for game characters powered by AI. NVIDIA ACE technology can now help players learn complex games and create smarter teammates. In PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, an AI teammate called PUBG Ally now has long-term memory, which means it can remember past games and interactions.
NVIDIA also announced that G-SYNC Pulsar monitors are now available. These monitors offer smooth gameplay without screen tearing and deliver much clearer motion. They also come with ambient light sensors that adjust brightness and color automatically throughout the day.
NVIDIA is changing how game characters think and act
Most video game characters follow strict rules and give the same responses every time. NVIDIA is expanding its ACE technology to change this. The new system lets game characters use AI to see, plan, and act more like real players instead of following scripts.
Creative Assembly is testing NVIDIA ACE in Total War: PHARAOH. The game now has a dynamic AI advisor that helps players understand the game’s systems. This advisor looks at what the player is doing right now and checks the game’s database to give helpful advice. It stays true to the game’s story and historical setting while helping players learn.
KRAFTON is adding long-term memory to PUBG Ally in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. This AI teammate lets players give commands and share attack plans. With the new memory feature, the Ally remembers how you played before and brings up past events during conversations. This makes interactions feel more real and personal, similar to how other gamers approach specific gaming actions.
PUBG Ally will launch as a limited test in the first half of this year. It will be available in PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Arcade for players who use English, Korean, or Chinese. The technology processes what players say, understands the current game situation, and responds with advice that fits the moment.
NVIDIA also introduced DLSS 4.5, which can create up to five extra frames for every regular frame. This helps games run at over 240 frames per second with path tracing on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. A new transformer model for DLSS Super Resolution is now available for all GeForce RTX GPUs through the NVIDIA App. The company continues expanding its technology reach, even as Trump’s new policy on NVIDIA sales sparks debate.
