A TikTok video posted by Mr Humpty (@mr_humpty555k) shows a customer arguing with a clerk at a 7-Eleven on Antelope Road in Menifee, California, over change he said he never received. The video has gained 92,100 views. On-screen text said the store already has bad reviews, that he never got his change, and that he was heading to work and had already wasted his time there.
The customer, who identified himself in the clip as Kevin Aguilar, began by asking, “So what’s the problem again?” He then said, “So I gave you a $20 bill, and you can’t pull up the receipt for this drink, and you’re trying to blame me that I’m stealing, and you call me bro.” The clerk, a woman with brown hair tied back in a green 7-Eleven shirt, held a phone to her ear during the exchange.
Her name tag read “FIROUZEH.” She told him, “I’m not trying to tell you that you said it. I’m calling the cops on you.” Aguilar replied, “That’s fine. You can keep the $12. You can keep the $20.”
The clerk told a dispatcher she could not find the sale in the register
Firouzeh stayed on the phone and described the man at her register to the dispatcher. She said, “I have a rude-a– guy on my, at my register, and I need him to go.” She added that he had come in, bought some items, left, and then returned claiming she shortchanged him, and that he was now recording her.
She gave the address as “30107 Antelope Road, Menifee, California.” She told the dispatcher, “Well, so I am a regular, and then he left, and he’s claiming that I shortchanged him.” She also said she did not know how she was supposed to confirm the purchase while he was recording her.
In the clip, she walked away from the register toward the back of the store and went through a door near the cooler.
Firouzeh told the dispatcher, “And now I’m not finding him. I’m not finding his stuff in the system. I look at every single transaction. I’m not finding his system.” She printed a long receipt roll and flipped through the paper on the counter.
Aguilar then pointed the camera at a can of energy drink next to a ten-dollar bill and two one-dollar bills and said, “I paid cash, $20.” Disputes over whether a customer actually paid can escalate quickly, as when a man at DFW airport argued he had already paid a restaurant bill, showed receipts, and ended up in a police car.
She continued speaking to the dispatcher and said, “He is yelling at me, and now he’s- and now, and now the id–t’s recording me.” Aguilar said he was “Just trying to get my change.” Firouzeh then said, “I think he’s Hispanic,” and Aguilar replied, “So now you’re being racial.” She added, “About in his 20s.”
Aguilar said, “I need to get to work, so you can call the cops.” He then stated, “My name is Kevin Aguilar. Your name is Ferozio. At the 7-Eleven. I got you. I got you.” The clip ended with Firouzeh still on the phone with dispatch.
Viewers who watched the video split over who was in the wrong. One commenter, writing as a former cashier, said the next step should have been a drawer count and wrote, “As a cashier in my past, you stop there and count your drawer.” Another person said they had been through something similar and wrote, “Omg same thing happened to me! They didn’t give me a receipt either. I called on them.”
A third commenter treated the complaint as a possible setup and wrote, “This what scammers do to try and confuse the cashier.” Someone else pointed to the register itself and wrote, “The system will let you know how much you should have in your register.”
Another viewer said the store cameras would settle it and wrote, “Just have the manager pull up the camera…end of problem.” One person pushed back on the clerk’s description of the customer and wrote, “sorry he is not being rude and he is pretty calm he is not yelling at you.”
