Amazon customer tried to pull a fast one and score 30 pounds of free Skippy, but the company’s reaction was truly surprising

Sometimes a glitch does everyone good.

An Amazon pricing mistake gave shoppers a chance to buy peanut butter for almost nothing. Many people used this error to stock up and help their communities.

Sam, a TikTok user known as @thriftycreativemom, was looking for peanut butter on Amazon when she found something weird. The website was selling six jars of Skippy peanut butter for about $11. But these weren’t regular jars. Each one weighed 5 pounds. That meant she could get 30 pounds of peanut butter for less than the cost of a pizza.

According to Bro Bible, Sam bought three of these six-packs right away. Her video showing what happened got more than 266,000 views. Lots of people went to Amazon to grab the same deal. One viewer wrote, “Ordered so fast to donate this month! People need their local food bank now more than ever.” Most shoppers wanted to give the peanut butter away to people who needed it.

Things didn’t go quite as planned

When Sam’s package showed up, she only got three jars instead of eighteen. She called Amazon to tell them about the mix-up and the price being wrong. Amazon gave her all her money back anyway. So she ended up with free peanut butter.

Other people who tried the deal had the same thing happen. Most of them got just one jar when their order arrived. But Amazon gave refunds to these customers too since the listing was clearly wrong. The page showed the price per ounce was 13 cents, which proved something was off with the deal.

This is *NOT* advice for legal purposes, just sharing an anecdote of what happened when I tried to purchase 30LBs of Peanut butter from Mr. JB last night for our little free food pantry. #snap #foodpantry #robinhood #community #nokidhungry

Some buyers weren’t sure what to do. One person asked, “How do you get a refund and not have to return it?” Others checked to see if the deal was real. A user named MissyB said, “Yep. It still says it’s a 6pack.” But Amazon caught on fast. Someone else posted, “Dang it, they fixed it.”

Right now you can’t buy the peanut butter because it’s out of stock. Amazon says they’re trying to get more soon. Nobody knows if it will cost the same price when it comes back. One buyer shared that their jar broke during shipping and wrote, “Mine came busted open in the box so they gave me a refund.”

Sam always meant to give the extra peanut butter to a food pantry near her house. Getting the refund meant she could buy even more food to donate with the same amount of money.

Other people liked this idea and did the same thing. One comment said, “I just ordered mine! And I plan to donate it to the food banks.” Someone else bought six packs just to give away.

Sam made another video to thank everyone who joined in. She called what happened “good chaos” and was happy that finding this mistake helped so many people. She said she’ll keep sharing deals like this when she finds them.
