Nintendo’s Amiibo line of collectible figures has been the hot toy of the season with many from the first two waves selling out across the world. Nintendo has no intention of slowing down or stopping as they have just announced Wave 4 figures that will be launching later this year, as well as a completely new line of figures centered around the Mario franchise.

Wave 4 of the Super Smash Bros. line of Amiibo will include Robin, Lucina, Pac-Man, Wario, Ness, and Charizard. This wave of figures will begin arriving in Spring 2015. No store-exclusivity arrangements were revealed, so hopefully we won’t have as bad of a time finding the figures we want this time around.

So far, the only game that has had figures created from its characters is Super Smash Bros. Of course, with it being a major collaborative, this meant it covered most of Nintendo’s franchises, as well as other publisher’s characters. However, this left out some key Nintendo properties, such as Toad and his compatriots. Nintendo looks to fix this with a newly announced line of Amiibo that will include just Mario characters.

Launching on March 20th, this line will include Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and Toad. Many of these are copies of figures from the original Smash Bros. line of Amiibo, and they will simply function the same way. Owning both will offer no benefit outside of collectibility.
