A new Nintendo Direct is coming tomorrow, May 17th at 6pm Eastern. The focus this time is on the upcoming Nintendo Switch title ARMS, though there is a promise of a brand new Splatoon 2 trailer at the tail end of the video. Many had been anticipating a new Nintendo Direct, but were hoping for something more than ARMS.

That’s not to say that fans aren’t excited for ARMS on Nintendo Switch. The game looks really fun, and offers something fresh and new for the genre and the burgeoning console. Those who have exhausted The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and raced through everything in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will likely want to tune in to see their next big Switch purchase.

So far the only confirmed games for this Nintendo Direct are ARMS and Splatoon 2, with the focus being squarely on the fighting game. Those who love to speculate though have been hoping for something based around Pokemon, perhaps with the rumored Pokemon Stars on Switch. This game has no official confirmation and is still firmly in the speculation territory of the fandom, but excitement is starting to boil over for whatever Pokemon game eventually comes to Switch.

E3 2017 is right around the corner, and big announcements usually take place there for Nintendo. If Pokemon or any other big franchises are coming to Switch soon then we’ll see it then.
