Ubisoft has recently announced that Americans pre-ordering Assassins Creed: Revelations will in fact get some exclusive content, but will have to do without the Assassins Creed encyclopedia that is being offered through the European only, GameStop-exclusive version of the game titled “Animus Edition” that will sell at a pricey $140.
Pre-ordering Assassins Creed: Revelations at GameStop here in the States will get you the “Vlad the Impaler mission”, the same ammo capacity upgrades offered in the Animus Edition and an exclusive multiplayer character. You’ll also get a short animated film which is most likely the same one that’s being offered with the Animus Edition as well as a soundtrack from the game.
However, you won’t be getting the encyclopedia to assist you in understanding the confusing ass plot twists that the Assassins Creed series has forced on players, especially those in Brotherhood. If you want to read up on those weird spirit beings called Minerva and Juno but don’t want to shell out the cash to get the Animus Edition shipped to your house, I suggest The Assassins Creed Wiki as an alternative.
