Bandai Namco has presented today the future of the God Eater series, with the franchise reinforcing its presence in current platforms with brand new titles. On one hand, the company has shown the first images of the next main entry, which has been confirmed to be titled God Eater 3. In addition to this, a new mobile game called God Eater: Resonant Ops has also been announced, markin the beginning of a new era in the series.
God Eater 3 is by far the most mysterious project of the two, with the trailer only offering a brief glimpse into the potential of this third entry. However, that is still enough to see that Bandai Namco is preparing the most spectacular title in the series, which will take advantage of the current platforms even if the company has not announced which devices will receive the game nor its release window. Here is the premise of the game: “New Aragamis are raging around the world causing misery and destruction. It is up to the God Eaters to take them down and re-establish a new balance, it is time to start breaking free from the cursed shackles.”
As for Resonant Ops, this free to play spin-off looks certainly ambitious for a mobile game, and its gameplay seems to have enough depth to attract both fans of the series and the casual audience. Here is the official synopsis: “AD 2078 (four years after God Eater 2: Rage Burst). As humankind continues along its path of decline, a large-scale strategy was announced. Along with his or her allies, the protagonist, a rookie God Eater, will throw himself or herself into battle in restricted areas.”
God Eater 3 has no release date announced. God Eater: Resonant Ops is launching this year in Japan. Watch the trailers below.
