If you’re like me then you’ve spent the last couple of decades humming the theme to NES classic Bubble Bobble. Something about that game and its music stuck with me over the last several years, and it seems like I’ll finally have a chance to revisit it without hooking up my NES Classic Edition. Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is a newly announced sequel and its heading exclusively to Nintendo Switch on November 19th in Europe and early 2020 in the US.

Developed by Taito, the original studio behind the franchise, Bubble Bobble 4 Friends looks to return the series to its roots of coop platforming. Upping the player count from two to four, players can look forward to screaming at their friends like it’s 1986 all over again. Check out the trailer below to get a peek at the first gameplay from this new sequel.

Extreme fans of the series have even more to be excited about though, with Taito announcing that the game will have a limited collectors edition release as well. Coming from Strictly Limited Games, expect to see more info on this soon. Supply will likely be very small, so if you must have the biggest and best Bubble Bobble 4 Friends experience, you’ll want to keep an eye on any upcoming news.
