Call of Duty fans can celebrate as Infinite Warfare has now turned gold. This means the game’s release date is final and there won’t be any last minute delays.

Infinity Ward made this announcement on Twitter: “We’ve gone gold! Excited for our upcoming MP Beta and all the optimizing we can do for launch with your gameplay data.

This means the bulk of development is over and the game is close to being ready to be printed onto discs to be shipped to retailers. This could be a sign that Modern Warfare Remastered is nearly complete too since both games are being offered together.

That’s not to say that development for the game is completely over. Infinity Ward will be holding an Infinite Warfare beta in October for both the PS4 and Xbox One. Any balances that are needed will be added into the game via an update patch.

Call of Duty games are rarely delayed, although it should come as good news that it’s out this year. Both South Park: The Fractured But Whole and Gran Turismo Sport got delayed until 2017. Not to mention The Last Guardian was delayed by a few weeks and is now out in December.
