Call of Duty players on the PlayStation 4 may have some kind of advantage when Modern Warfare launches next month. According to the publisher, “PS4 players will have an exciting Day 1 advantage” in the game, which is part of the PlayStation exclusivity arrangement Sony and Activision have had.
While this may be a harmless statement that’s been written hastily, it was included in the section of the Activision Blog that was talking about the cross-play features of Modern Warfare. Hopefully, this exclusivity doesn’t give PlayStation players some types of advantage to other platforms, as we don’t see that going over well with the Xbox or PC Call of Duty communities.
We’ll have to wait and see exactly what advantages PlayStation 4 COD players will have on day 1. Activision says that more details about them will be coming soon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just finished a beta period where fans and early adopters got a chance to head into the game a little early and it sounds like most are excited about the new game. Another open beta is slated to begin later this week on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
