Call of Duty WW2 was officially confirmed earlier today, with an upcoming livestream for the game planned for next week.  And now the first few images of the game have surfaced.  The images are in a low resolution, but they do a good enough job to give an idea of what a modern World War 2 game will look like for the Call of Duty series.

The images were found in the Call of Duty profiles section, advertising some of the features that signing up at the Call of Duty website would bring, such as exclusive rewards, forums, and news regarding things like Double XP weekends and other events.

More importantly on the exclusive rewards tab, it sounds like Calling Cards will certainly be returning for Call of Duty World War 2, as as well as “redeem codes” for bonus rewards.  So it sounds like there will be something like the Quartermaster and Supply Drops in the new game as well.

Call of Duty has been on a see-saw in recent years trying to take on all comers in the shooter space.  As more mobility in shooters became a trend in the likes of Titanfall.  Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare released the Exo-Suit as an answer.  Now with Battlefield 1 moving taking players back to World War 1, it seems that Activision sees this as their opportunity to revist the past.

Modern and future Call of Duty titles weren’t helped by the release of Infinite Warfare and the backlash it recieved by the community.  While it still sold well with respect to its peers, Infinite Warfare was somewhat panned by critics who judged the annual shooter last fall.  It was buoyed somewhat by the release of Modern Warfare: Remastered, which came as a pre-order bonus for those who bought the pricier premium version of the game.

There’s been no word on whether or not Activision has plans to release another remastered Call of Duty game alongside WW2 later this year.  Rumors suggested that the next remaster would be Modern Warfare 2, one of the most popular Call of Duty titles to date.

While these images give us very little to go on other than the possibility of certain weapons appearing in the game, and an idea of what the visuals will look like, a full reveal is just over four days away with the first live stream of the game taking place on April 26th.
