Indie darling, Cuphead, captured the hearts of players with its unique art style and tough as nails gameplay, but those waiting for more Cuphead will be waiting a little longer. Studio MDHR has revealed that Cuphead The Delicious Last Course will be pushed back from the slated 2019 release to some time in 2020.
The Cuphead DLC had been planned for 2019, but the developers explain that they want to make sure that it lives up to the expectations of players. In a developer blog on the Xbox Site, Chad Moldenhauer of Studio MDHR had this to say:
“Our highest priority is making sure this new adventure meets the meticulous level of care and quality we always strive for. We want to be absolutely certain that this next adventure feels at home in the world of Cuphead and is full of moments that surprise and delight players. Furthermore, the development of the original game taught us a great deal about the importance of making things in a way that’s healthy and sustainable for our team.”
The delay does not come with an exact date to expect the Cuphead DLC, giving it a broad window of 2020 to “get the recipe just right.”
