Dark Souls 3 was officially announced at E3 2015, with fans quickly becoming excited about what changes could be on the way for the hardcore fantasy RPG series. We got to take a look at live gameplay, with series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki walking us through the whole time.

We are trying go to the next level in Dark Souls 3

One thing that popped out almost immediately was the extra attention to detail that the character designs have received. New enemies and old have a much cleaner, but more detailed look to them, with some, such as the end boss, looking really fantastic, even compared to previous Dark Souls characters.

Apparently this wasn’t just a random result of jumping to current-gen only development though. Miyazaki, via a translator, spoke about the designs, saying “Dark Souls is well known for having very unique character designs, but we are trying go to the next level in Dark Souls 3.”

Characters weren’t the only thing to get touched on in Dark Souls 3. There were actually quite a few big changes, such as combat mechanics, and the general feel of the world. Keep checking back for more details on those and other things we learned during the lengthy demonstration, including our reaction, as well as other E3 2015 news throughout the week and into next.
