Dark Souls 3 has a lot of stats for players to upgrade to ensure they are able to survive the game’s many challenges. However, one of the game’s stats has remained a mystery even months after the game originally launched, and now the game’s director has talked about the stat briefly.

The stat in question is poise, which nobody seems to have any idea what it actually does. Kotaku recently asked director Hidetaka Miyazaki about the stat, to which he replied with the following:

“This isn’t something we are particularly proud of. With how things are handled now, it can be improved and this is an agenda item we’ll be working on in the future.”

As you may have realized yourself, this still doesn’t tell us anything about the stat or what it does. However, it at the very least implies that this will be fixed going forward and Dark Souls 3 players will finally know the stat’s purpose is.

Two DLC packs for Dark Souls 3 are in the works, with one set to come this year and the other set to come in 2017. Official details have not yet been shared on those, so be sure to stay tuned for the official announcement.
