Dark Souls 3 has been out for a few days, most likely resulting in the digital deaths of millions. Now, with the game out and in the hands of players, it’s time for FromSoftware and Bandai Namco to support the title with regular updates, fixing whatever minor issues remained for launch. The first of these since the game has become available outside of Japan will arrive for PC on Monday, April 18th, with Dark Souls 3 Update 1.03.1. PS4 and Xbox One players will likely receive it soon after, though we do not yet have confirmation.
Any time an update rolls out the question from fans is, what has changed. Luckily we have the patch notes for this one pretty early, at least in a simplified format. The changes coming for Dark Souls 3 Update 1.03.1 are “Performance adjustment for “Greatsword”. Battle performance adjustment for “Dancer’s Enchanted Sword”, “Winged Knight Twinaxes”. Performance adjustment for “Soul’s Greatsword”, and “Farron Flashsword”. Fix for issue where multiple items become impossible to use at “Road of Sacrifices”, “Farron Keep”, “Cathedral of the Deep” after clearing the game. General balance adjustments and bug fixes”.
So nothing too crazy that might impact someone’s game. Instead, it seems like this update will simply fix problems that might have already popped up for some players. It should also prevent the issues from appearing for future players. There won’t be any downtime for this update, so just look to see that your game has downloaded the patch on Monday morning and you should be good to go.
