Dead Space 2 is only a couple hours old but is getting the nod of approval from gaming critics thus far.  Dead Space 2 has already procured a score on metacritic.com in the 90’s from sites large and small.  Many sites have even awarded it a perfect score, actually quite a few of them.

Giant Bomb had this to say about the game:

“The multiplayer doesn’t seem especially deep, though, and consequently I suspect it will lose its luster after a week or two. The good news is the campaign alone is worth playing through two or even three times.” They gave the game a perfect score.  –Full Review

We don’t score games for sport, but we summed up our experience with Dead Space as such.

“It’s a bloody visceral experience that won’t soon be forgotten.  Amazing graphics, unforgettable sequences, and tension that you can cut with a knife make Dead Space 2 one of the best single player experiences I have played in quite some time.”  – You can read our full review here.

Even notoriously tough reviewer, Jim Sterling of Destructoid,  gave the game a 95. I would call that a rare feat indeed.

“Dead Space 2 is a ludicrously intense, graphically gorgeous, thoroughly atmospheric game that takes everything the first title did and ramps up the absurdity to dangerous levels.” – Full Review

It’s lowest score, an 80, came from Joystiq but an 80 is still awfully respectable.

Grats Visceral.
