Destiny 2 has been revealed. After months of waiting, tons of speculation, and some official teaser images, we now have the full reveal trailer which you can check out right here. On top of this news came some other details that might get lost in the shuffle, such as that the game will be coming to PC as well. Also, it was revealed that Destiny 2 will have a lot of different release editions, including a Collector’s Edition and Gamestop exclusive Limited Edition. It was also announced that Destiny 2 will get two DLC expansions.
Almost all of this was rumored earlier today with a leak from Reddit, which has since been quite well proven true by these announcements. As usual with these Collector’s Editions, there is a huge slate of both digital and physical goodies for serious fans to dig into. The set will cost $249.99, so expectations are high.
Those expectations may be met though, as the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition includes the following…
Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition
- Destiny 2 Base Game
- Destiny 2 Expansion Pass: Get access to both Expansion I and Expansion II, offering brand new story missions, cooperative activities, competitive multiplayer, and a wealth of new weapons, armor, and gear.
- Destiny 2 – Frontier Bag
- Customizable bag that can be worn as a backpack or messenger bag
- 15” Laptop/Tablet Sleeve with protective pocket slip
- Frontier Kit, featuring:
- Solar panel USB charger with built-in light
- Paracord
- Solar blanket
- Limited Edition SteelBook® Case
- Booklet with secrets into the Cabal Empire
- Cabal Schematic
- Collectible Postcard Images
- Cabal Military Pawns
- Premium digital content:
- Legendary Sword
- Legendary Player Emote
- Cabal Empire Themed Emblem
The Gamestop exclusive Destiny 2 Limited Edition will be much smaller, with just the DLC expansions, a Steelbook, and some physicall add-ons, such as a Cayde-6 figurine with pre-order. This will be offered at a lower price though, only costing $99.99.
You’ll notice that all of these include the Expansion Pass, which will give players access to the two currently announced DLC expansions. What these packages will contain has not been laid out, but expect something in line with what we saw for the original Destiny.
Both of these packages will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 8th.
