It looks like THQ Nordic isn’t going to let any of their IP’s just sit and rot away. The company has just revealed yet another remake of a long forgotten video game, and this time it’s Destroy All Humans Remake, a beloved franchise with a cult following that began way back in 2005. This is the second game from the 2000’s that THQ Nordic is remaking, with the other one being SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated.Â
The reveal came with a reveal trailer, which for some reason plays the song Ich Will from the popular German band Rammstein in the background. Ironically, Crypto, the main “protagonist” sings alongside it while he messes with the humans race. This includes stealing cows, because of course he does, brain washing the local humans, and getting them to raise hell to the Rammstein song. He then flies away before returning to zap them into oblivion, cackling all the while he does this.
The original Destroy all Humans! was a fun little open world title that also has a insane sense of humor. The game takes place during the 1950’s, so Crypto has the generic alien look and the stereotypical flying saucer, but all of that plays into the hilarity of the series. It’s also made it the most endearing trait, and kept it’s fan base yearning for either a full sequel or a remake since the last iteration years ago.
Now, THQ Nordic has granted at least one of those wishes, and we can’t wait to get back into the shoes of our favorite sarcastic alien and wreak havoc once again. As always, no release date was given, but it was confirmed that the game will come out sometime in 2020, and hey, that’s better than nothing. Destroy All Humans! Remake will launch in 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
