Digital Foundry is always there to do a graphics comparison of the several different versions of the same game when they launch, and this time they’re showing off Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game looks great on both platforms, though you’re definitely going to see a higher resolution on Sony’s platform.
Digital Foundry’s comparison video reveals that the game runs at 1080p on PlayStation 4, while hitting just 900p on Xbox One. Despite the lower resolution, they note that the temproral AA solution that the game has makes it look impressive on both consoles. Having seen both versions of the game in action first-hand, I can vouch for this.
However, they also note that the game does occasionally drop to below 30fps on both platforms, though slightly more on Xbox One than PlayStation 4. Sony’s platform also has slightly better loading times compared to the Xbox One version.
Despite the PlayStation 4 version coming out on top, you cannot go wrong with this game no matter where you play it. We reviewed the game on Xbox One and it looked and performed great, so if the Xbox One is your only option then don’t fret.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and you can check out Digital Foundry’s graphics comparison video of the console versions of the game below.
