Devs Already Working On Xbox One Scorpio, Confirms Phil Spencer

While Microsoft just released its slimmer model of the Xbox One in the form of the Xbox One S, that hasn’t stopped many people from wondering how things are going for the Xbox One Scorpio. That console is set to be a major upgrade compared to the Xbox One or Xbox One S, bringing vastly superior specs.

With just over a year until its release, some fans have taken to Twitter to ask Xbox’s Phil Spencer about the console. One fan asked him whether or not developers were already working with the new console, to which he replied with “Yes, hardware, platform and games.”

While the Xbox One S brought marginal upgrades compared to the Xbox One in terms of specs, the Xbox One Scorpio is being touted as a mid-generation upgrade. It will be competing with Sony’s PlayStation 4 Neo, though rumors are suggesting that it may end up being even more powerful than what Sony is working on.

Despite the fact that Xbox One Scorpio is a big upgrade, that doesn’t mean that there will be games for it that you won’t be able to also play on the regular Xbox One. It has been confirmed that there won’t be any exclusives to these upgraded consoles, so the games that you do play on them will just be getting a visual boost.

While an exact release date has not yet been set, the Xbox One Scorpio is set to launch during the Holiday 2017 season.
