DOOM is just over a week away from launch. With the game this close to release, Bethesda and id Software have pushed out the final, official launch trailer for the game. Featuring a minute of gameplay and other footage, the trailer should get any DOOM fan excited for the upcoming first-person shooter.
“DOOM was developed at id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and invented multiplayer Deathmatch,” reads the initial press release. “Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Expand your gameplay experience using DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.”
DOOM recently had an open beta, so hopefully you got a chance to try the game out then. The game is looking to bring back the classic style of shooter that the original DOOM revolutionized. Questions remain as to how effective the game will be, but it seems like id Software definitely nailed a lot of those classic aspects of the genre. Check out the trailer below, and let us know in the comments what you think.
DOOM hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 13th.
