The Dragon Quest series is one of the most popular of them all in Japan and there is no question that the upcoming Dragon Quest XI: In Search of Departed Time will see plenty of that same success. After being announced awhile ago, a release date for the game is finally coming very soon, as Square Enix has announced when that actual reveal will come.

Square Enix seems to be getting into a habit of holding presentations where they announce the official release date for their games. They did this before with Final Fantasy XV, even though that game ended up getting delayed from the release date that was announced in that presentation, and now they are doing the same with Dragon Quest XI.

It was just announced that Square Enix will be holding a release announcement presentation for Dragon Quest XI on April 11 at 14:00 JST. Like most Square Enix streams, this will be available on both YouTube and NicoNico, with the YouTube stream already having a countdown going on right now.

According to Gematsu, this Dragon Quest XI release announcement stream will be hosted by Joy and will feature actress Tsubosa Honda as a guest. Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii will also of course be there, along with some others that weren’t announced at this time.

The big question is whether or not this presentation will reveal the release date for both the PS4 and 3DS versions, and perhaps even the Nintendo Switch one. The PS4 and 3DS versions are completely different, but it was said before that the hope was to have a simultaneous release with the two. The Nintendo Switch version of Dragon Quest XI is a complete mystery still, as we won’t know what it will be like. It’s likely that will come later, so our best bet is to get a release date announcement for both the PS4 and 3DS version for Japan. A US release hasn’t even been officially announced yet, so that is very unlikely to be announced there as well.
