E3 2015 marked the official announcement of Dark Souls 3. While it wasn’t shown on the expo hall floor, we got to take a look behind closed doors, with series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki walking us through. You can watch our general reaction to the demo here, and expect a complete rundown of what was involved later on. We also got to talk to Bandai Namco Entertainment’s Global Brand Manager Mike Chang about the game, asking some questions that lingered after the presentation.

One thing that we talked a little about beforehand is that Dark Souls 3 will still be a good jumping on point for newer fans, as my experience with previous Souls games amounts to just a few hours. In the interview, which you can see below, Chang goes in depth on the setting for the game, and how it links to Dark Souls 1 and 2. Also we dive into a few changes, such as the new combat, which features an all-new ready stance animation.

Some other points that stood out include Bandai Namco’s Gamecom plans for Dark Souls 3, which include a “hands-on experience”, and the fact that the game has some pretty sweet dragons in it. To find out everything we learned about Dark Souls 3 check out the interview below, and keep coming back for our full rundown later on.
