Fallout 4 got the early jump on E3 with an announcement last week, but the game’s true grand reveal came during Sunday night’s Bethesda press conference. From the dynamic character creation systems to the beautiful graphics, Fallout 4 already looks phenomenal, but now we’ve learned something very important about your pet companion in the game.

The entire gameplay footage got tons of applause, but the inclusion of a pet as a companion yet again brought many cheers. Continuing the long legacy of Dogmeat in the series, you can have someone to survive in this post-apocalyptic world alongside.

Dogmeat has been a near centerpiece of the marketing since the game’s full reveal on Sunday, so naturally one had to wonder if he could end up having a dramatic death or just be killed in general in Fallout 4.

Luckily, Bethesda’s Todd Howard has already dismissed that as even being a possibility, by tweeting that “Dogmeat cannot die.” This is great news to hear, as the last thing we need is our last part of our own humanity dying in the game.

Fallout 4 will be arriving for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 11 and I’m sure we will still be getting plenty more information as the week goes on.
