E3 2016: Bethesda Reveals All Of Cancelled Prey 2’s Concepts Were Scrapped In New Prey

In a move that not many people were expecting, Bethesda announced a new version of Prey during their E3 2016 press conference. There is currently only one game in the series that was released in 2006, but a sequel was actually shown off a few years ago that had a lot of potential. However, that game eventually got cancelled.

Well, it looks like Bethesda has taken everything that was present in the sequel and thrown it out the window. Bethesda’s VP of PR Pete Hines said on GameSpot’s live E3 stage show that “there is not a single element of Prey 2 in [the new Prey], other than aliens running amok and you’re being hunted by aliens.”

The new Prey seems like it is going to be a different take on the first game that released in 2006, rather than use the interesting new ideas featured in the concepts for Prey 2. That’s a shame, but what they’ve got going in the new version of the game is looking good, too.

Prey is set to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. You can check out the E3 2016 reveal trailer for the game below.
