Multiplayer has been added to a lot of video games in order to prolong their lifespan. Well the new God of War game on PS4 will be a single player only experience from the looks of things as multiplayer isn’t planned.

Level Up talked to Cory Barlog who is the director for God of War on PS4. Balrog confirmed that the game will not have a multiplayer mode of any kind.

Sony Santa Monica want to focus on the single player campaign this time around. The only God of War game that added an online multiplayer mode was God of War: Ascension. The multiplayer mode was fun, although it wasn’t played by many people compared to other online video games.

Hopefully this is a sign that the single player campaign is lengthy and awesome to play through. The Order: 1886 didn’t have a multiplayer mode, but that game was inexplicably short at only 6 hours long including cutscenes. It will be cool if God of War PS4 is close to the lengths of Uncharted 4 or The Last of Us.

There’s no release window for the game yet, but a safe bet is that it will be out by Fall 2017. It was one of the most talked about games at E3 2016 and is sure to be a hot seller when it comes out.
