Mortal Kombat X released just short of a year ago and has since had the release of eight DLC characters and a more complete version in Mortal Kombat XL coming earlier this month. You would have thought that they would probably be done with the game for the most part by now, but it appears some big news is still on the horizon.

NetherRealm Studios’ Ed Boon is almost always on Twitter it seems like, where he is constantly communicating with the fans. However, he also uses it quite a lot to tease upcoming reveals, which is just what he has done.

Boon tweeted yesterday afternoon that there was “Big news coming as soon as tomorrow… ” He did not go any further on what this could mean, except for including it with the above picture.

The question is whether this picture actually means anything or was just a random one he used to make the tease. Could we possibly be getting even more characters, or is it something more simple like a new stage or costume? Perhaps we could even get new stage fatalities now that they have been added.

Boon did not give a specific time, just saying it could be as soon as tomorrow, which is now later today. As a result, stay tuned and we’ll let you know the details after he reveals just what he is talking about.
