The ESRB has now rated the Attack on Titan video game that will be out later this year from Bandai Namco. The listing posts a few more details on the level of violence it will have.

Since Attack on Titan is aimed for an older audience, the video game has been rated “M” for mature players over the age of 17. The content descriptors are: “Blood and Gore, Partial Nudity, Violence”.

The rating summary says: “This is an action game based on the story and characters of the series Attack on Titan. Players assume the role of a young soldier battling enormous man-eating titans that threaten humanity. As characters fly around battlefields with wired jetpacks, they use swords to cut off titans’ limbs, killing them with a slash at the back of the neck.

Battles can be frenetic, with large splashes of blood appearing after limbs are cut off. Finishing blows often result in larger blood-splatter effects. Throughout the game, Titans are depicted nude, with exposed buttocks, though they lack discernible genitalia.

As you can see from the description, Attack on Titan is pretty graphic and full-on with the content that it shows on the screen. The video game will be out on August 26th, 2016 in Europe and August 30th, 2016 in North America.
