The EVO organization has announced its lineup of games featuring on the upcoming 2018 tournament. The most importang fighting game event of the season will include competitions based on eight videogames, and the selection has some interesting details worth mentioning. For starters, the organization welcomes a brand new game to the competition, as the recent Dragon Ball Fighter Z joins the selection as the first Dragon Ball game to be selected in years. Acclaimed by fans and critics as one of the closest experiences to the fights in the anime, FighterZ is sure to bring some spectacular combats to the tournament this year.

On the other hand, those titles leaving the competition this year The King of Fighters XIV and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which will not be succeeded by 2017’s Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. This has caught everyone’s attention, as it means it will be the first year in which the crossover series will be absent from the tournament, despite its considerable following and its long tradition with EVO. However, it’s no secret that this new game hasn’t been well received by the fans and the general audience, getting poor sales around the world.

That means that Tekken 7, Injustice 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Street Fighter V (in its Arcade Edition modality), BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, and Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 will all be coming back for this year. Check out the full lineup below.
