Evolve, the new 4v1 shooter from 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios, looks gorgeous on a fully capable PC. Of course, whenever you see a great looking PC game, and you haven’t completely rebuilt your system in the last few months, you have to wonder how well your system will handle the game. That is where minimum and recommended PC system requirements come in. Poring over these figures might not give you the whole story, but they will help you decide if your machine will be able to run the newest game at a steady pace.
2K Games have finally dropped the requirements for Evolve and they actually look pretty well optimized, allowing some lower power machines to run the game at the “recommended” level. Of course, having more power is always better, but if you are a little behind in your GPU upgrades, it looks like you’ll be able to run Evolve in a semi-stable state. If you’re still unsure about the capability of your system you can click here to run an analyzer tool put together by the developer and NVIDIA. As far as how Evolve will handle those fancy PC-only features, the developer revealed that 4K resolution will be supported at launch, but SLI will come in a future update. The options you will be able to tweak on day one include texture detail, shader detail, model detail, shadow quality, particle quality, anti-aliasing, tessellation, and Vsync.
Evolve will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One starting February 10th.
