The release of Star Fox Zero is finally almost upon us with no chance of a last minute delay as the game has already started going out to the media. We gave our first hands-on preview of the game of the full game yesterday, but now Nintendo has officially revealed even more amiibo integration for the game.

During the last Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that Star Fox Zero would have amiibo integration of course, with the Fox amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. line providing a retro SNES style Arwing in the game. At that time, we all wondered what the Falco amiibo would do in the game, but we now know courtesy of Nintendo UK.

Through a brand new gameplay trailer that shows off many of the different facets of Star Fox Zero on the official Nintendo UK YouTube page, it has been revealed that Falco will indeed bring something exclusive to the experience.

By tapping your Falco amiibo on your Wii U GamePad, Fox will not have access to a special Black Arwing in the game. This is much more than just a superficial change though, as it offers players an interesting trade off. In the Black Arwing you can now select two targets at one time, but your defense is much lower as well.

You can check out the new trailer below and look for Star Fox Zero to release on April 22 exclusively for Wii U.
