Fallout 4 File Size Creeps Out Of The Wasteland

The file size for Fallout 4 has now been revealed and it may not be as big you can initially thought.

As reported by ICXM, the website spotted the game’s file size on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The file size will only be 28.12GB. This is smaller compared to other open-world video games.

That’s not to say the game won’t be lacking in content and scope. This is just an indication that Bethesda is good at compressing data. Kojima managed to keep Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at around 27GB and that’s an open world video game too.

The fact that Fallout 4’s file size is just above 28GB is good news for console owners that might be running out of hard drive space. There are a ton of other video games that have file sizes of well over 40GB. The biggest offenders are games that have lot of mandatory update patches like Destiny: The Taken King.

Fallout 4 has been several years in the making and Bethesda only revealed it earlier this year. Fans don’t have to wait that much longer to play it as it comes out for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 platforms from November 10th.
