Halo 5: Guardians

Release Date for Halo 5: Guardians: Fall 2015

Platforms: Xbox One | More about Halo 5: Guardians

Halo: The Master Chief Collection may have been a fantastic gaming package, but the technical issues marred the experience so much that fans were left wanting. Thankfully, the Halo 5: Guardians Beta came along and showed that 343 Industries is certainly on the right track with the next entry in the shooter franchise. The arena-style multiplayer has definitely returned with a vengeance and fans should be ecstatic.

And that is just the multiplayer, Halo has actually always presented a fantastic single player campaign along with it and Halo 5: Guardians looks to be no different. Even Halo 4 had an enjoyable campaign, despite its meandering storyline. Halo 5: Guardians looks to tell an even more personal story this time around, focusing on Master Chief’s journey while introducing Agent Locke as a new major player for the series. All of this adds up to what will surely be one of the best games of 2015.

The New Zelda

Release Date for The Legend of Zelda Wii U: 2015

Platforms: Wii U | More about The Legend of Zelda

This is the moment that millions of gamers bought a Wii U for. Sure, Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U were great, but for many, the reason to own a Nintendo console is so that you can play the latest Zelda game. This one looks to be the biggest ever, and a true shift in the franchise, featuring HD graphics and a massive open-world to explore.

The Legend of Zelda is the sort of game that, even at its worst, it is still one of teh greatest experiences that you can have with a video game. And due to Nintendo’s tireless commitment to quality over quantity, we rarely get a new main entry in the franchise. Having one coming in 2015 is reason enough to be excited, especially if you already own a Wii U.

Star Fox Wii U

Release Date for Star Fox Wii U: 2015

Platforms: Wii U | More about Star Fox

“Finally!” That was the sentiment when Star Fow was announced for Wii U at last year’s E3. The long-running desire for this game was so huge that even Nintendo was joking about it in their Nintendo Direct videos. Now, after years of waiting and a few side adventures that never truly lived up to the franchise’s potential, we’ll be getting a new Star Fox game that looks like it is worthy of the name. Little is known about the game, but what we have heard is just enough to get any Nintendo fan excited for 2015.

The Order 1886

Release Date for The Order: 1886:  February 20th, 2015

Platforms: PlayStation 4 |  More about The Order: 1886

Whether you’ve been impressed with The Order: 1886 or not probably has something to do with how much you appreciate graphical fidelity.  For just about anyone that’s gotten eyes-on with The Order, there’s no doubting that Ready At Dawn has something truly remarkable in the presentation aspects of the game.

What has given cause for concern is the gameplay, which appears to be a third-person cover shooter, leaving The Order: 1886 feeling like a Victorian-era Gears of War.

PlayStation 4 owners will get The Order: 1886 early in the year, and it’s only platform that this exclusive will arrive on.

No Man’s Sky

Release Date for No Man’s Sky:  TBA 2015

Platforms:  PlayStation 4, PC |  More about No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky from Hello Games is one of the most intriguing games due to release in 2015.  When the Joe Danger developers revealed the game back at the Spike Video Game Awards show in 2013, they basically stole the show with a game that appeared to be both beautiful to look at, and ambitious in terms of gameplay ideas.

Since then we’ve heard plenty more about the upcoming timed PS4 exclusive.  Players will explore a procedurally generated universe in No Man’s Sky, with Hello Games boasting that seeding for the game can produce 18 quintillion possible planets.

PlayStation 4 owners won’t be the only ones able to get their hands on No Man’s Sky.  The game is also due on PC.
