We’ve known for a while that the Final Fantasy 7 remake is going to be broken up into episodes, but it wasn’t until now that we’ve had any idea just how big each of these episodes are going to be.
The game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase, recently did an interview with Game Informer about the size of each of the game’s episode. He said that “It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense.”
He goes on to say that “Whereas with Final Fantasy VII Remake, we already have a preexisting story, so it wouldn’t really make sense if that isn’t encompassed in a multi-part series… So if we’re just looking at each of these parts, one part should be on par with the scale of one Final Fantasy XIII game.”
Kitase did not share how many episodes will be present in the remake, but it certainly seems like it will at least be a trilogy. Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be coming to PlayStation 4 first when it does launch, though a release date hasn’t been given and is likely a long time away from being announced.
