Final Fantasy On PS Vita Depends On The Demand

The only Final Fantasy game on the PS Vita right now is Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. There is a lack of a PS Vita exclusive for the popular RPG franchise.

IGN had a chance to speak with Hajime Tabata recently where they talked about the possibility of a Final Fantasy game being on the PS Vita. It all depends if fans are “vocal enough”.

Even if Tabata wants to make a PS Vita Final Fantasy game, he said it depends if Square Enix is “willing to stand by that demand and follow through”. A Final Fantasy VII remake has been in demand for many years, yet Square Enix has not made a proper remake of the game yet.

Tabata said if he is to make a Final Fantasy game for the PS Vita platform, it might play differently to the home console versions. He mentioned he would focus more on multiplayer such as “co-op play and versus play”. He also said it would also allow players to play the game together. Most of the direct-entry games in the series have only been a single player affair.

Some Final Fantasy games hit the PSP such as Crisis Core and Type-0 HD just to name a few. If fans demand it enough, hopefully a game from the famed franchise might hit the PS Vita sometime in the future.
