Final Fantasy VII is not only one of the most hyped games of this console generation, but easily one of the most anticipated of all time. People were asking for a full on remake for years and that wish came true back in 2015 when Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced for PS4. Square Enix announced that the game would be an episodic release, with the scope of the game being way too much for one release. They’ve been pretty quiet overall about the episode structure itself, but now the director of the game has released the status of the second episode of the game.
The official Square Enix website posted interviews with multiple people involved with Final Fantasy VII Remake, including director Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura spoke about the first episode itself, but then gave a hint at the next episode as well.
“We’ve already begun working on the next one as well, but I’m confident that playing through this title will expand your expectations just like the world that extends beyond Midgar.”
While this isn’t a lot of information, it is great to hear that the second episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake is already in the works. Considering the engine and everything is already in place, hopefully this means the wait for future episodes after the first will not be quite as long as the first has been.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to release exclusively for PS4 on March 3, 2020.
