Studio Wildcard was teasing a major new expansion for Ark: Survival Evolved earlier this week, though now it has been officially revealed. The expansion is called Scorched Earth and is available to download now on PC and Xbox One for $20. The base game is required in order to play the expansion, and that has been marked down 40% on both PC and Xbox One.

This expansion is desert-themed and comes with lots of new content, and you’ll be able to move back and forth between the expansion and the main game whenever you want and keep your items. Here’s what Studio Wildcard had to say about the expansion:

“All of us at Wildcard are tremendously excited to see how these new features alter the dynamics of the long-term ARK ‘metagame.’ While we’ve had Scorched Earth and future Arks in the planning stages since the project’s inception, establishing its inter-ark travel technology was the essential reason for making this content available to players right now. We encourage everyone to grab some trustworthy tribemates, don your safari hats, layer on the SPF-1000 sunscreen, and head into the great blazing desert!”

The new map includes seven biomes that include dunes, mountains, canyons and more. There are also over 50 new items available, which includes things like flamethrowers and boomerangs. New creatures include Morellatops and Wyverns, while also adding in a new boss with the Manticore.

Studio Wildcard also notes that this expansions is “completely finished” and “polished,” so you shouldn’t have to worry about any major bugs or issues.
