Call of Duty Points are officially a thing for Black Ops 3.  Activision has outlined this new currency-based microtransaction scheme that works hand and hand with the game’s vendors in competitive PvP and cooperative modes.
Soon Call of Duty players will be able to purchase these Call of Duty points in a variety of different bundles. Â However, players will also get a free taste of Call of Duty’s funny money on the house. Â 200 Call of Duty points will be doled out to players for a limited time when they log in to their PlayStation 4, Xbox One, or PC version of the game.
New skins, taunts, gestures, and other cosmetic items can be earned though playing the game. Â These include new melee weapons like the Butterfly Knife, Wrench, and Brass Knuckles. Â All of these items function similarly to the default combat knife melee weapon.
Call of Duty points can be used to secure additional rare Supply Drops in multiplayer or extra Vials of Liquid Divinium for the zombies mode. Â An announcement from Activision reveals that additional slots can also be purchased with Call of Duty points.
Just how long these free Call of Duty points will given away is anyone’s guess. Â A disclaimer on the Call of Duty blog reveals that this will be a limited time offer.
