Gamestop has now listed the first details about NBA 2K16. Better graphics are promised and a mode has been confirmed.

The first info about NBA 2K16 says:

The NBA 2K franchise is back with the most true-to-life NBA experience to date with NBA 2K16. Guide your MyPLAYER through the complete NBA journey, take control of an entire NBA franchise, or hone your skills online competing against gamers from around the world. With animations that provide smoother movement and more realistic articulation, it’s certain to be the most authentic NBA gaming experience yet.”

The part about animation and smoother movement is interesting. NBA 2K15 was already 1080p and 60fps on both the Xbox One and PS4. NBA 2K16 is set to make the animation even more realistic than before. EA Sports has already confirmed NBA Live 16, so 2K Sports is always trying to one-up the competition.

It’s also not surprising to see that NBA 2K16 will see the return of the MyPlayer mode. This has been a huge mode in both NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K15. Hopefully with this year’s game, your save files are not attached to the online servers.

NBA 2K16 will be out later this year. No release date has been announced, but it’s likely to come out during the first week of October 2015.
