Killzone Shadowfall on the PlayStation 4 and Ryse: Son of Rome will undoubtedly be popular games this holiday season. With gamers clamoring for new consoles, and these the first-party exclusives that Microsoft and Sony have chosen to showcase the new systems, many will be playing these two games.

But Gears of War: Judgment developer Andrian Chmielarz thinks they look “generic”. Voicing his opinion on Twitter, Chmielarz says: “I looked at the PS4/XBO launch titles, and …nothing. Both Killzone and Ryse gameplay on YouTube reeks of generic.”

The Creative Director for Gears of War: Judgment later went on to clarify that he was talking specifically about the gameplay for both titles. “They both look fantastic. It’s the gameplay that’s not promising.”

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will both be on the market in less than one month. We’ll reserve “judgment” until the consoles arrive. What say you? Are you liking the offerings that Sony and Microsoft will have available at launch? We’re you wanting something more? Let us know in the comments section below.
