Update: Apparently, the game “leaks” via Twitch were the result of compromised accounts. The parties responsible for posting the “Gears of War Repercussion” info on the Xbox Twitch channel are the same ones that were posting vulgar language and slurs on numerous Twitch profiles. According to Twitch via Polygon, the accounts were compromised via computers at the Gamescom convention in Cologne.
Original Story: It has been known that Black Tusk has been developing the next entry in the Gears Of War franchise for Xbox One but it seems we have the name of the upcoming title already, Gears Of War: Repercussion.
News has come in via Shinobi602 a longtime NeoGaf poster has posted on Twitter that he found an interesting page on the Official Xbox Twitch channel. The title of the video is “gow_repercussion” so it is safe to assume it is Gears Of War related and the video description reads “embargo 11/7/14”.  It seems whomever is in charge of the Xbox Twitch channel has messed up. We have included an image below just in case the video is taken down.
Black Tusk has said that they plan to be true to fans as they themselves are fans of the franchise. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft handles this leak and if this pushes up their plans for the reveal in November. Safe to say there may be some ‘repercussions’ for whomever put that video information up so early. Â We have reached out to Microsoft for comment on the matter.
