Sony Santa Monica’s God of War has managed to become the fastest-selling game on the PlayStation 4.  Selling 3.1 million copies in its first three days available, God of War is an undeniable success.

Things were looking incredibly good for the game following the release of critic reviews.  The game currently has 108 positive reviews on Metacritic, with zero mixed or negative scores.  The game currently sits at a 94, making it one of the highest rated games of the year and certainly one of the highest rated exclusives.

This critical success has apparently translated to commercial success for Sony’s reboot of the franchise.  Sony Santa Monica took a much different path than previous God of War games with this latest release and it has seemingly paid off.

PlayStation fans have not been starved for exclusives and reasons to own the PlayStation 4.  2017 was a banner year for the brand, with numerous high-profile releases.  2018 looks to be another big year for Sony as the release of God of War kicks off a year that will feature another slate of “must play” games on the PlayStation 4.

Sony will look to follow-up this success with the release of Detroit: Become Human in May and then Insomniac Games’ take on Spider-Man later this year.
