When Halo 5 Guardians launched in late October fans rejoiced at the apparent return to form that the multiplayer featured thanks to the Arena mode. However, one thing was missing that had been a major part of the franchise since the beginning. Big Team Battle, with its 16 player vehicular mayhem was absent from all playlists. That changes today with the release of Halo 5’s “Battle of Shadow and Light” update.
343 Industries announced the update by saying, “our promised commitment to meaningful post-launch support and expanded free content begins today with our first drop: Battle of Shadow and Light, which adds the stealthy new Shinobi ninja-themed armor, some legendary Light Rifle firepower and perhaps most importantly, the arrival of Big Team Battle maps, modes and mayhem to Halo 5: Guardians.”
Inside of Halo 5: Guardians you will now find the Big Team Battle playlist, which features two teams of eight players squaring off in larger maps. Vehicles will be a big part of the game, so get ready to hone your Warthog driving skills once again.
Along with this come the other promised bits of new content, such as new REQs, assassinations, and more. All of this content is available for free, so hop on and give it a look.
Halo 5: Guardians is available now for Xbox One.
