Santa Monica have been collecting gameplay data from their Norse mythology inspired action-adventure hit, God of War.
Since its release in April and the recent addition of New Game Plus, players have been dying all over Midgard, Alfheim, Helheim, Jötunheim and the other fun spots you get to visit in the recent reimagining of the action series.
According to their official site, where you can see the infographic for yourself, Santa Monica have this to say:
“Since the launch of God of War and more recently New Game+, we’ve been in awe of all the amazing playthroughs and reactions from you – specifically, the different combat styles and armor loadouts from Brok & Sindri you’re using to strategically dispatch your enemies. If you haven’t taken on a Valkyrie yet, you’re missing out.”
“We thought it would be fun to create an infographic to share some of the most popular ways the God of War population is approaching the combat in the game; not to mention seeing how those brave souls, who have been tirelessly battling the Valkyries, are faring against the Queen, Sigrun. Did you also perish 100 times before finally defeating her in Give Me God of War mode?!”
The stats show off a lovely 690,267,490 total deaths (I’d love to see a Celeste stat for this!) with a whopping 94,882,964 deaths in God of War mode.
Runic Wyrmskin Pauldrons, Plated Runeweaver Bracers, Runeweaver War Belt and Talisman of Resolute Protection come in as favorite equipment for our rugged Kratos while Hel’s Touch and Ivaldi’s Anvil take top place as favorite upgrades with 1.4 million people having fully upgraded the magical Leviathan Axe.
The Sigrun fight stats are also quite interesting, showing just how many tries it took people to take down the killer Valkyrie Queen with a staggering 100 – 1 rate on God of War mode dropping off to a still incredible 36 – 1 rate on Give Me a Challenge. That’s a lot of patience.
How do you think your stats compared?
God of War has done incredibly well, becoming the fastest-selling game on the PlayStation 4, holding onto top spot of the sales charts for six consecutive weeks and selling over 3 million copies to date. We certainly agreed.
God of War is available now exclusively on PS4.
