It looks like, just as many expected, Infinite Warfare will be required to play the full experience of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Many fans thought otherwise since the campaign will be available to PlayStation fans prior to release and figured the game would update itself with the multiplayer mode.
Now it seems that an update to the verbage in the fine print on the Official Modern Warfare Remastered webpage notes the following:
“At launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® Remastered will contain only 10 MP maps from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game. Additional MP maps will be made available by 12/31/2016. Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game download (game disc must be inserted to play Modern Warfare Remastered). Internet connection required.”
Now this is more than just a wild guess given that Modern Warfare Remastered hasn’t been announced as a separate disc and it even mentions in the notice above that it is a full game download. So it is an easy deduction that it will require Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’s disc upon release. I’m sure this doesn’t change much for hardcore fans, but those looking forward to just playing all those multiplayer maps in Modern Warfare will have a slight pain of keeping an extra disc around.
Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is set to release on November 4th, 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC alongside the multiplayer and single-player release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
