Jade Raymond Heading Visceral’s New Star Wars Game

The much anticipated Star Wars Battlefront is coming in only a few months and looks absolutely fantastic from everything they have shown. While that is the focus now, there is another brand new Star Wars game in the works by Visceral that now has a very prominent person in the industry in charge.

It was just revealed today through the official EA site that Jade Raymond has opened a new studio under EA, and she personally explains that Motive be working on Amy Hennig’s Star Wars game from Visceral that we’ve been hearing about for awhile as well. We were kind of shocked they didn’t show anything about the game at E3, but perhaps all of this behind the scenes movement made them hold off for now.

Raymond is one of the most prolific modern names in the gaming industry, working as producer on the first Assassin’s Creed and then executive producer on Assassin’s Creed II, one of the best games of last-gen. She also worked as executive producer on Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Watch Dogs, before departing Ubisoft last October.

Now Raymond has not only started Motive Studios under EA, but is the new person in charge at Visceral as well. This should make the work relationship between Visceral and Motive go off without a hitch on this new Star Wars game.

With Raymond being involved, could this be an Assassin’s Creed style Star Wars game to compliment the shooter in Battlefront? I would love to see something more story driven like Assassin’s Creed with gameplay more like that, so hopefully Raymond will give us some details in the near future.
