Square Enix has presented a new trailer of the much-anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3 during an orchestral concert. The video shows new gameplay footage of the game set in the world of Hercules, including battles with multiple enemies and a boss fight against one of the titans, as well as some new story details.
The game definitely looks like it’s hoping to be the most spectacular entry in the series thanks to the Unreal Engine 4, with smooth graphics that are close to reach the level of detail of the previous games’ cinematics. The battle mechanics are very reminiscing of the gameplay of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, making a stronger case for anyone waiting for the new main entry to purchase the 2.8 compilation for PS4 in the meantime.
Some of the brand new mechanics that can be spotted during the battle scenes at Mount Olympus is the ability to fight with a party of four members, with Hercules joining the group rather than just replacing Donald or Goofy.
The trailer also reveals some new story details, featuring new scenes with Maleficient and Hades, and with Sora and Xenmas.
Unfortunately it seems like the game will not be featured during E3, but a message at the end of the trailer invites us to discover a brand new world and a new trailer on July 15th, during the D23 Expo 2017.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is in development for PS4 and Xbox One. Watch the new trailer below.
